Roc City Skatepark

Below South Avenue 490 East On-Ramp

A 26,000 sq. ft. one-of-a-kind, wheel-friendly, skatepark underneath the iconic Frederick Douglass – Susan B. Anthony Memorial Bridge breaks ground on October 9, 2019 with generous funding support from the NYS ROC the Riverway funding.  Other funders the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Ralph Wilson Jr. Foundation.

Located alongside the existing Genesee Riverway Trail and with easy access from South Avenue, the skatepark is imagined as an urban park that will enhance the outdoor recreation experience for walkers, joggers, and cyclists while providing a connection to the waterfront and to other parks in the area.

This custom-concrete skatepark will pay homage to Rochester and boast public art and multiple skate-able features such as a main skate promenade, mini-ramps and ledges, and a competition bowl.  This new installation will add life to an underutilized area along the downtown riverfront and serve as a destination for skateboarders, BMX riders, and fans of the sport, providing fun fitness opportunities for families from all over the community.

Roc City Skatepark is one of nine, bricks & mortar ROC the Riverway projects, to be built by the City of Rochester.
