Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC) is pleased to announce the third annual Downtown Definitely Events series of 14 popular free events including the Midday Bash, RPO Under the Stars, Movies With a Downtown View, Play Day on the Riverway and Fall Fest. The 2024 series kicks off on Wednesday, June 12 with the first of eight Midday Bashes at Parcel 5 and continues through September.

Join us on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Grove, an exciting and lively outdoor retail and entertainment destination in the heart of downtown Rochester for a free open-air vendor fair.

The City of Rochester and Downtown Definitely Events today announced plans for the second annual Fall Festtaking place in the heart of downtown Rochester at Parcel 5 on Saturday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fall Fest is a free, family-friendly event open to the public, rain or shine, and will feature pumpkin painting, games and inflatables, giveaways, a petting zoo and other seasonal activities to be announced closer to the event.

Downtown Definitely’s free Movies With a Downtown View event returns to Parcel 5 next Friday, September 8 for “Top Gun: Maverick” – the sequel to the beloved ’80s action blockbuster.

“Top Gun: Maverick” will be presented on an 18-foot wide, 10-foot high LED video wall courtesy of Hamilton AV. Additionally, Movies With a Downtown View are open captioned and an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be present at the event.

Downtown Definitely Play Day on the Riverway – a part of the 2nd Annual Downtown Definitely Events Series – is this Saturday afternoon. Play Day on the Riverway is a new free event that takes place indoors and outdoors from the Rundel Memorial Library to the ROC City Skatepark and the Rundel Library North Terrace, overlooking the Genesee River. It will feature a variety of family-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, walking tour, storytelling, live music and food and drinks to purchase.

The City of Rochester’s RPO Under the Stars is back for the second year in a row as a part of the Downtown Definitely Events series. The free concert is Friday, July 7 on Parcel 5, 285 E Main St, Rochester, featuring the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra led by Principal Pops Conductor, Jeff Tyzik.

Movies With a Downtown View is proud to partner with the Rochester Juneteenth Festival at its kick-off event, Friday, June 16, by collaborating on pre-movie activities including fun kids’ activities. Due to the air quality health advisory issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for Monroe County, Midday Bash at Parcel 5 in downtown Rochester will be canceled on Wednesday, June 7. Please stay tuned for a rescheduled date.

The next Downtown Definitely events are Movies With a Downtown View on Friday, June 16, and Midday Bash on Wednesday, June 21.

The first Downtown Definitely Midday Bash kicks off Wednesday, June 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Parcel 5. Midday Bash in downtown Rochester offers a delicious and easy lunch option during the week and features different local food trucks, lawn and tabletop games, music, massage chairs and giveaways.
