Downtown Activation
Established in 2022, Downtown Definitely Events is a series of free events and activities produced by the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC). Taking place from summer to fall each year, these events highlight what’s on offer in downtown Rochester and create unforgettable experiences. From food, festivals, and free giveaways, to music, movies, and markets, Downtown Definitely Events deliver great new experiences and bring the community together.
DOWNTOWN Collaboration
Founded in 2021, The Partnership for Downtown Rochester facilitates placemaking efforts, coordinates marketing and programming, and leads promotion of activities throughout downtown Rochester and along the Genesee Riverway. The Partnership for Downtown Rochester is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is a partnership between New York State, Empire State Development, the City of Rochester, RDDC, and ROC2025.
Activating downtown areas with a diverse range of events, from festivals to concerts to movie nights, helps to create a vibrant and inclusive environment that brings people together and enhances the overall downtown experience. We work closely with local businesses, creatives, and community leaders to ensure that our events have a positive and lasting impact on the downtown area.
DOWNTOWN Business Growth
The Commissary is a collaborative community, providing shared kitchens combined with food industry specific business assistance to help aspiring entrepreneurs build great food companies, create jobs, and strengthen our regional food economy. The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation led the effort to establish The Commissary. Together, we are building a vibrant and inclusive food culture that celebrates diversity, creativity, and entrepreneurship!
